A reclining female nude. The title is derived from 'The Tale of the Sea Rose of the Girl from China', one of the stories from 'The Thousand and One Nights'. The model was Joan Williamson, daughter of Sir Andrew McFadyean, former Chairman of S. G. Warburg.
