Art UK gives everyone free digital access to the UK national collection of art owned by the British public. On artuk.org hundreds of thousands of artworks and thousands of stories are yours to explore.

Public galleries are stretched and art education is under threat. We support every public collection to make their art digitally accessible and connect young people to the art they own.

We receive no regular public funding. Without donations like yours our charity wouldn’t exist and the access to art we provide would be lost.

Please donate today.

How your donation will support our charity

We depend on donations to fund our core activities like running this website, digitising more artworks and telling stories about art. We don’t have any paywalls and want to keep it that way.

See our impact
‘It is so incredibly important for these artworks to be digitised. This means they can reach a wider audience for enjoyment, learning and research.‘
Yinka Shonibare CBE, artist

Art across museums

We share our platform across nearly 3,500 UK museums and other institutions to make their art collections accessible and encourage visits. Most of their art is digitally accessible only through Art UK.

Art in the classroom

We support the teaching of art and art history through our learning resources, with a focus on improving children’s visual literacy. We want all children to have the opportunity to engage with art.

Art for everyone

We democratise access to art. 90% of the UK national collection is not on display. We make it easy to access and understand. And share it with a global audience.
