Saint Lawrence is shown holding a gridiron upon which he was tortured. This window dates c.1310–1330, the decorated gothic period. This style of glass-painting flourished in the period c.1280–1350, with figures positioned under flat but decorative canopies. The brilliant colour of the glasses and the confident painting are also typical of this great period for English stained glass. The glass was originally in a church in Wood Walton, Cambridgeshire, and was removed for safekeeping by the Friends of Friendless Churches in 1980.
