The Stained Glass Museum offers a unique insight into the fascinating story of stained glass, an art form that has been practised in Britain for at least 1,300 years. Housed inside the spectacular Ely Cathedral, the museum boasts a national collection of British and international works, from medieval to modern. The Museum was founded in the 1970s to rescue and preserve stained glass. Its unique collection includes ancient, modern and contemporary examples of this extraordinary art form. It is the only museum in the UK dedicated to displaying and interpreting stained glass to the public.
