An obelisk rising in three stages with an inscription on the central section. The work is a memorial to Albert Lee, a local teenager, who drowned in the River Roch, near Queen's Park, in June 1907, trying to save David Ashworth who had fallen into the swollen waters and was swept away. It was two days before Ashworth's body was found, and a full week before Lee's body was discovered three miles downstream from the park.
