Painter in oil, etcher and architect by profession, born in Gloucester, settling finally nearby at Churcham. Trew became a chartered architect, having attended the Crypt School in Gloucester and Sidcot School in Somerset, and after World War I for a few years was engaged in town planning and reconstruction for the Greek government. He was a fellow of RIBA and a member of the Town Planning Institute. Studied art at Gloucester and Cheltenham Colleges of Art and in Paris. Showed at RA, Cooling Galleries, NEAC and elsewhere.
