Berwick-upon-Tweed's mid-eighteenth century Town Hall was the hub of the town's municipal life and is still used for Town Council Meetings. There is a public function room that was used as a courtroom, and the gaol which is located on the building's second floor and remains virtually unchanged since it was last used in 1849. The collection is housed in a number of the different rooms within the building.
The collection at Berwick-upon-Tweed has been accumulated over many years at the Town Hall and consists mainly of notable civic personages and views of the locality.
