More about

Berwick Museum & Art Gallery contains a compact collection of fine and applied art, as well as collections of natural and social history. The Gallery is home to paintings and drawings by Degas, Boudin and Daubigny as well as a wonderful selection of Chinese and Japanese ceramics, and a representative collection of local artists' work, many donated to the gallery by Sir William Burrell in 1949. Ravensdowne Barracks was completed in 1721 to the design of the distinguished architect Nicholas Hawksmoor. It was the first purpose built army barracks since Roman times.
