Nik Pollard studied at Thanet Technical College and Kent Institute of Art and Design before doing Wildlife Illustration at Carmarthenshire College of Technology and Art, later completing the MA Natural History Illustration course at the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1998. A regular exhibitor at the Society of Wildlife Artists, he was elected a member in 2001 and currently serves on their council. He was presented with the BBC Wildlife Award for most creative interpretation of wildlife in 2001. The following year he received the Artist for Nature Foundation award and has participated in several international ANF projects. Recently he has written and illustrated several well-received children’s books and also returned to the RCA as a visiting lecturer.
