Located within Long's Wood and consisted of 20 Low-relief 'bosses' (circular bronze plaques) mounted obliquely on oak posts at a height suitable for children to take rubbings. Long's Wood covers 70 square acres across two very pleasant Woods. Each bas-relief image is derived from some element of natural history (plants, birds and woodland animals), history (the history of the railway, for example), or industry (flint mining) relevant to the specific placement. There are also mythological references (for example, the Unicorn and the constellation Orion). According to the artist, each image represents in essence the 'Life of That Place'.
