A sculpture commissioned for the refurbishment of the Market Square to reflect the work of Sir Isaac Newton in determining the movement of celestial objects. There are four elements – the existing market cross (Grade II listed) represents the sun at the centre of the universe; a low spherical sandstone sphere represents Venus; a tall stainless steel sculpture represents the earth and moon, and a series of five bronze plaques in the pavement represents diagrammatically Newton's work.
