A combination, on a large scale, of aspects of paintings by Adriaen van Ostade and Egbert van Heemskerck; date unknown. One in a pair of pictures, described in 1929 as 'Heemskirk. Interiors with figures, a pair': the other was described as 'Dutch people merrymaking'. Another pair of paintings in a similar style and probably by the same hand, both of merrymakers, was offered at Christie's, London, 14th July 1978, attributed to T. Helmbreker.
