This is one of a set of 14 views of Bath and its surroundings which were originally painted to decorate the window shutters of a Georgian building in Laura Place, Bath. By the 19th century it was a hotel. When it was redeveloped in 1947, the owners of what was then called Pulteney Hotel decided to donate these small paintings to the Gallery.
