A Northumberland Fusilier, hands resting on his reversed rifle, on a tall, two-stepped tapered plinth. At the top is a laurel wreath enclosing a cross, with dates on either side. The names of those from Shiremoor and District who fell in the First World War are inscribed on three sides of the plinth.
