Standing protectively behind the lump of Malvern rock that forms the war memorial set up after the First World War, this sculpture consists of a large open right hand, with fingers and thumb pointing upwards, upon which are three doves with outstretched wings, two on the palm of the hand and one near the tips of the fingers. Each of these symbolise one of the three branches of the armed services – the Army, the Navy, and the Royal Air Force. The work is set within a small circular garden, with a border of shrubs behind it and three hardwood benches set around the circle.
