Statues of King Ethelbert and Queen Bertha, Kent’s greatest royal couple, whose vision led to Canterbury’s World Heritage Site status. The statues depict a possible scene in 597 when King Ethelbert meets Bertha as she returns from her prayers in St Martin’s church with the news that Augustine has landed. The site of these statues is on the route that Bertha is thought to have taken.
