The fountain stands in a round basin with a low plain stone surround and held out of the water by a stone plinth. The plinth, the base and the column are hexagonal with a lion's head waterspout within an oval frame on each face; the heads and frames are gilded. Above this is a vase-shaped section decorated with acanthus leaves supporting a wide shallow basin whose underside is scalloped and coloured cream. Around the rim are lion head waterspouts. Above is a plain band with small gilt ornaments. From the centre of this basin springs a twisted column consisting of two dolphins, noses down, whose tails support a smaller basin similar to the first. On a short pedestal in the middle stand two putti holding a torch between them.
