A view of 'Cherries' – a house off Hartspring Lane. This house was unusual in that it was built for an artist, Minnie Agnes Cohen (1864–1940), onto her existing studio – rather than the other way round. The studio still exists and is used as a dining room.

The family who later occupied the house moved frequently as the father's work, as a water engineer, took them to various places. 'Cherries' remained, nevertheless, the family's favourite home. The mother of the family commissioned this work and one of the daughters, who were both students of Marguerite Frobisher, bequeathed this painting to Bushey Museum.
