A small wooden Buddha, seated and carved from natural bark, the grains of which are very prominent. The wood is weathered and is missing a small square section on the reverse, possibly where an item was originally inserted. Buddha is shown seated with his right leg placed over the left. His hands are resting on either knee. This item was possibly used for personal use as it is portable. One of two carved wood buddhas from China in the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum collection.
