Carved and painted mask with high eyebrows and movable eyes (one missing); the nose is painted red and a large gaping mouth with carefully depicted incisor teeth (top and bottom) with red whiskers is painted splaying out from beneath the nose.

This is part of a group of artefacts in the Time and Tide Museum collection collected by British missionaries on the Northwest Coast of British Columbia in Canada in the 1860s. The museum is working in partnership with organisations in the UK and in Canada to improve the knowledge and records of these artefacts and build links with their communities of origin.
