A white marble figure of a young Bacchant in classical pose holding a bunch of grapes in the left hand. Bacchants were the female followers of the god of wine, Bacchus, and were often depicted dancing wildly and draped in animal skins. This statue may be based on a French 18th-century original (the style of the face and hair is similar to a statue at Waddesdon). She is holding up a bunch of grapes, has flowers in her hair, is wearing a lion's skin, and has a pair of castanets at her feet. She is probably a pair with the Bacchant with a jug also at Brodsworth, who has similar drapery.
