Painter and teacher, born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, who began his career as a painter and decorator, studied at Belfast School of Art, teaching there part-time, then went to Royal College of Art. He held a series of teaching posts after his return to Ulster, in 1949 joining the staff of Belfast College of Art. Showed at RUA of which he was an associate, RHA, Magee Gallery in Belfast and elsewhere. Ulster Museum holds his work. Arts Council of Northern Ireland put on a retrospective in 1978.
