Artist, born in Luton, Bedfordshire, who graduated from Central St Martins College of Art & Design, 1995. Among his solo shows was We Were Thinking of Evolving, Vilma Gold, 2003. In that year, Titchner was featured in the Tate Britain Art Now series with Be Angry But Don’t Stop Breathing, where he combined the ideas of a number of cult theorists whose work occupied the margins of popular thought. Titchner’s ongoing series of semi-functional works reinterpreted now-defunct theories and explored notions of ritual and devotion. Other Titchner exhibition appearances included Best Eagle, Transmission, Glasgow, 2001, and The Galleries Show, RA, 2002. It is you, at Arnolfini, Bristol, in 2006, included two specially commissioned works and a major new multi-media installation: When we build let us think that we build forever.
