Painter, born in London, who studied at Royal College of Art and Royal Academy Schools, winning the Turner Gold Medal and Creswick Prize. He was elected ROI in 1916, also showing at RA, Ridley Art Club and Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. Pittman was a Chelsea Arts Club member who lived in several parts of England and was notable for his landscapes. Latterly had a studio in Hampstead, north London.
