Sculptor, born in Danzig, now Gdansk, Poland, who moved to England as a refugee from the Nazis in 1939, later settling in Israel, based in Jaffa. He showed in England and for a while had a studio in London; was included in the Heart of Israel exhibition at Alexandra Palace, 1988; and his metal sculpture The Israeli Lamp was unveiled near the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, in 1990. Meisler’s most notable work is probably his Holocaust Memorial in Mannheim, Germany. There was another Holocaust Memorial by him in Miami, Florida. Meisler had a considerable reputation in Israel, works by him there including a fountain at King David Hotel, Jerusalem.
