Painter, born in Kingston, Jamaica, who studied for her diploma at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, 1960–5. Among her major group exhibitions were Annual National Exhibition of Painting, Institute of Jamaica, and Festival Exhibition Jamaica, both 1968–75 (she won a First prize at the Annual National Exhibition and a Bronze Medal at the Festival Exhibition, 1969); Thirty Jamaican Artists, Mexico City, Mexico, 1975; Six Jamaican Painters, Inter American Development Bank, Washington, America, 1977; Male and Female created He them, National Gallery of Jamaica, 1983; Fine Art of Jamaica, Giorgi Gallery, Berkeley, California, 1993; and What is Realism?, Albemarle Gallery, 2005. MacMillan’s solo exhibitions included a long series at the State Gallery, Kingston, from 1968.
