Painter whose output included abstract works of great variety, such as his two acrylics on canvas Untitled and Anthraline, in Royal Over-Seas League Opens for 1994 and 1995. Born in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorganshire, he studied at Howard Gardens Art College, Cardiff, and University of Reading. Won a first prize at Wales Art Fair, 1993. Had a solo show at KF Gallery, Boston, America, 1988; Road to Colour at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Art Gallery, Merthyr, 1990; Geoff Evans Fine Art/Centre Gallery, 1993; and deliART, 2002. Cyfarthfa and the corporate collections of Arthur Andersen & Company and Ernst & Young hold examples. In 1990–1 Williams was commissioned to carry out work for Merthyr’s British Rail station.
