Painter in oil and watercolour, draughtsman in pastel and wood engraver. Born at Paisley, Renfrewshire, Armour studied art at Glasgow School of Art 1918–23 under Maurice Greiffenhagen like his wife Mary Armour, whom he married in 1927. William Armour was for a time head of drawing and painting at the same school. Exhibited RSA, RSW and elsewhere. Painted a notable portrait of his wife as a young woman. Work held widely in public collections in Scotland, and elsewhere. Lived at Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire.
