The New Art Gallery Walsall

More about

The New Art Gallery Walsall presents, collects and interprets historic, modern and contemporary art in innovative and challenging ways. The New Art Gallery Walsall is home to the distinguished Garman Ryan Collection, donated to the Borough by Lady Kathleen Epstein (née Garman) in 1973. Two remarkable women created this collection: Kathleen Garman, lover and later wife of artist Jacob Epstein, and her life-long friend Sally Ryan, a talented sculptor. As this is a closed collection, the Garman Ryan Epstein Collection was formed in 1996 as a partner collection. The New Art Gallery Walsall also houses the Walsall Borough Art Collection, which started in 1892 and now contains over 1,700 artworks, historic and contemporary, collected through a series of donations, bequests and purchases.
