Garry Fabian Miller
b.1957
Artist, born in Bristol, whose father was a professional photographer and who taught him how to use a camera. He was influenced by the work of artists such as Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth; a Nicholson picture seen at the age of 13 made him realise that a work of art could, “like a stone or a piece of wood”, assume its own identity.
