CW+ owns and curates the most comprehensive collection of contemporary British art on display in a hospital. Artwork is displayed throughout all public areas, wards and clinics in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, helping to enliven the environment and create an atmosphere conducive to healing. The collection contains over 1,000 contemporary works of art including paintings, prints, photography, textile, sculpture and site-specific commissions by pre-eminent British artists. Some historic paintings exist in the collection, which were inherited from the institutions that Chelsea and Westminster Hospital replaced, including the revered 'The Resurrection of Christ' by Veronese that hangs in the Hospital Chapel. The collection continues to grow with new acquisitions, funded by charitable donations or pieces loaned from other collections.
