Painter and teacher, born in Hampshire, who studied in Paris, watercolour with Edward Wesson and under Leslie Orriss at Reading School of Art. She tutored painting expeditions to Albania, Czechoslovakia, France, The Himalayas, Italy, Morocco and Turkey. She was a full member of the RWS, a member of The Small Paintings Group and was on the council of the Chelsea Art Society, winning the Agnes Reeve Memorial Award, 1989 and 1991, and The William-Powlett Prize, 2001. Her many other group appearances included the RA Summer Exhibition, RI, ROI, Singer & Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, NEAC and the 2000 International Watercolour Biennial, Mexico. From 1996, at the request of Sir Hugh Casson, whose eyesight was failing, she began monochrome watercolour drawings for Music in Country Churches, under Prince Charles’ patronage.
