Nature-watchers send thousands of records to the Staffordshire Ecological Record at the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust every year. Combined with the data from specimens at the museum, these records form a picture of what lives in the local area. Sometimes something brand new to Staffordshire is discovered, either because it has been overlooked in the past or because it has moved in from a neighbouring county. We've worked with local biological recorders to reveal some brand new discoveries from around Staffordshire in 2018. Using a combination of specimens from the museum's collections and the in-the-field photographs used to determine the new record, this hot-off-the-press display shows the flora and fauna never before seen in the County.
