The Museum has acquired its collection of paintings, principally by donation, over the past 90 years. All are of particular interest to the Regiment. Worthy of note are the painting 'Sir John Moore (1761–1809)' by Thomas Lawrence and those of Major General Coote Manningham and Lieutenant Colonel Boyd Manningham, both by unknown artists. Other portraits include 'Major General Sir George Ridout Bingham (1777–1833)' by H. W. Pickersgill.
Standing out among the battle scenes are 'The Capture of a French Battery by the 52nd Regiment at Waterloo' by Ernest Crofts, and five splendid paintings by Thomas Baines of the 1st Battalion, The Rifle Brigade, en route to and during the Third Kaffir War in 1852. The painting 'Lieutenant Colonel Macleod at Badajoz' by J. A. Atkinson, although small, also has particular appeal.
