More about

Most of the art collection was commissioned when the new Queen Mary's Hospital opened in 2006. Many of the works depict local areas, for example Richmond Park, Barnes Wetland Centre, the River Thames, and most are by local artists. Some of the collection came from the old hospital and is mostly displayed in the main corridors. The Queen Mary's Hospital mural, situated on the lower ground floor, depicts Douglas Bader, the Second World War flying ace. A department in Rehabiltation is named after Bader and the mural depicts some of the staff and patients who still work or attend appointments there.
