Portsmouth City Museum is in an impressive late-nineteenth-century former barracks building set in a garden. It houses galleries devoted to pictures, fine and decorative art, local history including period room settings and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Temporary exhibitions are staged on a variety of subjects.
