The National Marine Aquarium is the UK’s foremost public aquarium with over 50 displays of live animals including three enormous 'ecosystem' tanks. The Aquarium has a well-developed arts programme with two resident artists and displays of marine-based art at various locations within the building. The Aquarium views art as an intrinsic element of its mission to engage visitors with the marine environment. The collection of works features donated artwork, resident artists work and some works on loan from local artists. It also features a number of works by local artist Sue Wills which capture the tranquillity and calm of the local sea.
