More about

Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres are for anyone who has been affected by cancer. Maggie's is about empowering people to live with, through and beyond cancer by bringing together professional help, communities of support and building design to create exceptional centres for cancer care. We have a collection of over 1,000 drawings, paintings, prints and sculptures. The collection boasts some pieces by key British artists such as Grayson Perry, Eduardo Paolozzi and Anthony Gormley. This collection is spread across the fifteen Maggie's centres throughout the UK. Maggie's London holds a number of the ‘Livingston Collection’. Some key pieces of Maggie’s small but significant art collection are displayed in both of the Glasgow centres. Some pieces were generously donated by collector Neil Livingston. Having made his first purchase in 1966, Neil (along with his wife Georgina) began actively collecting in the 1980s. He was particularly drawn to Scottish landscapes and seascapes. The Livingston Collection is now shown in Maggie’s Centres across Scotland and includes key pieces by painters W. B. Lamond and Joseph Milne and a beautiful study by the Montrose-born George Paul Chalmers.
