Hexham General Hospital was officially opened by the Prime Minister in January 2004. It replaced the out-dated facilities of the original war-time emergency medical hospital with stunning architecture and a modern, bright and comfortable environment. The state-of-the-art £28 million hospital was designed by specialist healthcare architect, American, Jonathan Bailey and boasts large glass atriums and wide sweeping staircases. The hospital is the showcase for the Trust’s Healing Arts Programme and has the largest collection of art held within the trust.
