About the collection
Staffordshire University was established in 1992, but has its roots in the early twentieth century, when Central School of Science and Technology was established for the teaching of mining technology and pottery production. The institution became North Staffordshire Technical College in 1926 and then North Staffs Polytechnic in 1971. It has since evolved into one of the country's most dynamic, progressive and forward-thinking learning institutions. The University has a long and proud history of providing high quality, progressive and inclusive higher education for people from across Staffordshire, the region, the UK and the rest of the world.
