MK Arts for Health manages and cares for the largest permanent art collection in Milton Keynes, with approximately 400 artworks on site. It has a strong local element, comprising work that has been commissioned from the very beginning of the new town in the 70s up to the very active exhibition and loans programme we have today, which ranges from temporary community exhibitions to work owned and on loan from national, international and local artists. We currently have works on loan from the Arts Council Collection; Paintings in Hospitals; and Flowers East Gallery, a growing number of artworks have been commissioned or purchased directly for the Hospital. MK Arts for Health is a Milton Keynes-based arts development organisation with charitable status. The organisation grew from the voluntary Hospital Arts Committee who successfully developed one of the largest Hospital Arts Collections in the UK, and was established in 2004 as a professionally managed organisation.
