The story of Scottish art in the past two centuries can be told in many ways through the rich and varied collection held by Fife Council. Over 1,000 works of art have been acquired, around half of them oils and acrylics. The main focus lies in Scottish works from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, but there are some notable works dating from the eighteenth century to the present. To add to the variety, works by a number of English and European artists have also been collected.
