Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery is home to a captivating collection of oil paintings, watercolours, Christian icons, Egyptian artefacts, and its collection of Japanese woodblock prints is one of the largest in the UK outside of London. Borne from the proceeds of a once-bustling weaving industry, and grown in recent years with assistance from the Friends of Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery, the collections chart the local and social histories of Blackburn.
