About this video

Students from Athelstan Community Primary School in Sherburn-in-Elmet made this film about a local sculpture memorialising the Fairey Swordfish aeroplane. In this film, the students investigate the history of this famous plane, which was manufactured in Sherburn-in-Elmet during the Second World War. They also speak to the sculptor who created Fairey Swordfish Memorial, and take inspiration from the artwork to create their own.

This film is one of a series of short films about local sculpture produced by schools and groups of young people from across the UK.
