About this video

A glass sculpture designed by Hospital Art Studio for a stairwell at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor is a beautiful feature, as well as a constant reminder of the gift of life. Why did a hospital want a sculpture and what are the difficulties of designing for hospitals? A group from a local school visited to find out.

This is one of a series of films made in collaboration with young people across the UK, who explore and express their views on sculpture in public collections.

You can learn about other community sculptures in hospitals in another film on Art UK.
