Rovianne Matovu has a BA in Art History from UCL and an MA in Education in Museums & Galleries from The Institute of Education, UCL. Her first MA is in The History of the Book from The School of Advanced Study, University of London, where she focused on text and image, particularly the history of art printmaking. It was Picasso, ironically, who made her look back to her African roots and appreciate Africa's transformative effects on Modern Art. She is also interested in black British art and contemporary African art, design and textiles.

Rovianne’s favourite artist featured on Art UK is Yinka Shonibare MBE (RA) but one of her favourite artworks, The Self and Family, is by painter-printmaker Eileen Cooper, RA.
