Dr Peter Wakelin is a writer and curator. He was formerly Secretary of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales and Director of Collections and Research at Amgueddfa Cymru-National Museum Wales. He has curated exhibitions for the Royal West of England Academy, MoMA Wales, the National Eisteddfod of Wales and y Gaer in Brecon among others. He is President of the Contemporary Art Society for Wales and chairs the Board of Cadw.
His recent books include Refuge and Renewal: Migration and British Art, Hill-rhythms: David Jones + Capel-y-ffin and monographs on the artists Falcon Hildred, Roger Cecil, Sally Moore, Charles Burton and George Little. He has written for Art Review, Modern Painters and The Guardian.
