Maev Kennedy FSA writes on the arts, archaeology and heritage. A long and motley career in journalism has included stints as The Irish Times parliamentary sketch writer and Guardian diarist. She was for many years the Guardian's arts and heritage correspondent, and now writes regularly for The Art Newspaper.

Her current favourite artist is the Irish stained-glass genius Harry Clarke, on account of a recent coffee under his wonder windows at Bewley's in Dublin.
