Madeline Ward has been Lead Curator – Art, for Aberdeen Archive, Gallery & Museums since 2018. Despite a longstanding personal love of arts and culture, Madeline came to art curatorship later in her professional life, returning to university in 2011 to study art history, having previously trained as a teacher and worked in Third Sector project management. Madeline is interested in portraiture and identity – areas well catered for in Aberdeen's collection, including many fine examples of artists' self-portraits.
