Jill Burke is Professor of Renaissance Visual and Material Cultures at the University of Edinburgh. As well as three monographs, two edited books and many academic articles, she has contributed to exhibitions including 'The Renaissance Nude' at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, and the Royal Academy of Arts, London (2018–2019) and 'The Cult of Beauty' at the Wellcome Collection, London (2023–2024). Her latest book, How to Be A Renaissance Woman: The Untold History of Beauty and Female Creativity was a Waterstones Book of 2023, a New York Times Editors' Pick, and a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week.
